THE STORY:
This journey started a long time ago…
postcorp.tv was named because I was trying to come up with a clever business name…that also had a unique story behind it. This is my post-corporate tv life. So – postcorp.tv made sense! After nearly 2 decades of working for publicly traded companies (namely a little company called News Corporation) I set out to find a world where the corporate ladder was a thing of the past. This is still my journey. It is the “post” of the “postcorp”. The corp is all encompassing to corporations but it’s directly part of the name due to this being my post “news corporation” life. So there you have it. postcorp.tv….has a nice little ring to it…right?
I started my career in television as an overnight editor for a weekend morning FOX news show in Birmingham, Alabama.
I moved into shooting news working for the CBS in Birmingham, and then BACK to the FOX station as a news photog. Sure, there was tons of action and it was exciting. Over the years I spent countless hours editing stories all night long in the back of a live truck. However there came a point where I had "seen it all". Too many dead bodies, too many natural disasters, and the inside of too many city council meetings. So, I moved into “Creative Services”. From Birmingham to Detroit to Philadelphia I have had the honor of working with some of the most talented and creative people in that field. After 8 years as a Promotion Manager in the City of Brotherly love something said: “hey, why don’t we kick this city life to the curb and move to a tiny little town that sits at 9,000 feet above sea level?” (that “something” was my wife.) So we did what you do when this kind of life change presents itself.
We sold the house and moved to the mountains…
That’s where this little chapter started…and it’s still writing itself. I owe a huge amount of gratitude to FOX and the experience I gained in my years with them. Over the span of my career I’ve worked as a Photographer, Director, Editor, Producer, Promotion Manager, Production Manager and Creative Director. I could not have done any of it without the people that gave me chances along the way.
I have extensive hands-on experience working in production and post-production. I have run live cameras in hurricanes, directed film shoots for high-end production campaigns, and produced EMMY Award winning spots.
My work was even highlighted by acclaimed filmaker Michael Moore in his film “Bowling for Columbine” as a shining example of what’s wrong with the media. – The highlight of my career right there!
I love storytelling and helping people figure out how to position their brands in unique ways. If you are interested in connecting on a project email me and let’s get rolling. [email protected]
